Darrel Sauerlender, Vice-President, Technology Services
Darrel Sauerlender joined AMI in 2005 and was promoted to Vice-President, Technology Services in September 2015. During his tenure with the organization, he has held several positions including technical consultant and Director of broadcast engineering.
Darrel boasts more than forty years’ experience in telecommunications, cable TV and broadcasting having worked previously for Allstream and Rogers Network Services. Under his direction AMI-tv was one of the first Canadian broadcasters to use MPEG-4 satellite transmission.
Darrel is a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and has a passion for new technology and its ability to assist the blind and partially sighted community. In his spare time, Darrel is an avid consumer of historical information and enjoys astronomy, camping and fishing.
