AMI announces coverage of Blue Jays baseball for 2015 season

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that it will air a minimum of 15 Sportsnet simulcasts of Toronto Blue Jays games in 2015, complete with live described video making them accessible to fans who are blind and partially sighted.

This is the fourth consecutive season that AMI will air live described broadcasts of Blue Jays games. AMI began its relationship with Canada’s Major League Baseball Team in 2012 when it became the first ever broadcaster to air a Major League Baseball game with live described video servicing the blind and low vision community. AMI will kick off the 2015 season with the team’s season opener against the New York Yankees, followed by the home opener against the Tampa Bay Rays.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays this season,” says John Melville, AMI Vice-President of Programming and Production. “The live described games have been very popular with our audience since their introduction and we’re happy to help make Major League Baseball accessible to those living with vision loss.”

AMI is proud to have a number of seasoned sports broadcast professionals return as part of the live described video team for the games this season, including Sam Cosentino, Jim Van Horne, Norma Wick and Rob Simpson.

AMI’s 2015 schedule for Toronto Blue Jays baseball is as follows:

Monday, April 6 vs. NY Yankees at 1 pm
Monday, April 13 vs. Tampa Bay Rays at 7 pm
Saturday, May 9 vs. Boston Red Sox at 1 pm
