AMI partners with NEADS to promote Scholarship program

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that it has partnered with the National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) to administer its annual scholarship program.

Entering its fourth year, the AMI Scholarship program has seen significant success and offered much needed financial assistance to students with a disability. In 2015, AMI will introduce the AMI Scholarship program to the French market and offer both bursaries to students with a disability. “Through our partnership with NEADS, we have the opportunity to grow the program and reach thousands of students with disabilities across the country,” explains Peter Burke, AMI Vice-President of Marketing and Communications. “Furthermore, we recently launched our French channel, AMI-télé, last December so it’s vitally important that we reach students with disabilities in our francophone communities. We’re pleased to offer the AMI Scholarship program in both official languages for the first time in 2015.”

The AMI Scholarship program launched in 2012 and was created to further strengthen AMI’s commitment to making accessible media for all Canadians. The program is open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada planning to enrol or continuing to be enrolled in full-time studies in a diploma or degree program at a Canadian post-secondary school. In 2015 AMI will award two $5,000 bursaries to two deserving students with a disability; one from the English community and one from the French. The AMI Scholarship program launches on March 7, 2015 and concludes on April 30, 2015. Complete rules and regulations are available in English at www.AMI.ca/scholarship and in French at www.AMItele.ca/bourses.
