Summer Student, Technology Services – Toronto (ON)

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI)’s mission is to entertain, inform and empower Canadians who are blind or partially sighted. Operating three broadcast services, AMI-tv and AMI-audio in English and AMI-télé in French, AMI’s vision is to establish and support a voice for Canadians with disabilities, representing their interests, concerns and values through accessible media, reflection and portrayal. 

The role:

An exciting opportunity awaits a student who has a passion to make a difference! This role will assist the Technology Services team with clean up and maintenance of key technical areas, minor administrative duties and supporting troubleshooting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Assist with cleanup and decommissioning of technical equipment, including lifting and moving equipment.
•    Provide 1st level support to all AMI staff by responding to Help Desk calls and emails as directed to Technical services Staff and Manager, Technology 
•    Maintain inter/intra department communication by keeping key stakeholders informed of problems or changes and provides constructive feedback to manager and peers.
•    Contribute to team effort as required

Qualifications:

•    Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication and grammatical skills 
•    Strong research, planning, creative and organizational skills 
•    Experience working in a live television broadcast environment an asset 
•    Excellent attention to detail 
•    Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
