Betty Nobel, Vice Chair
Betty is a teacher of the visually impaired and is currently working part-time in the North Vancouver School District. After spending many years as an adult educator at Vancouver Community College, Betty retired but rejoined the workforce and continues to teach in the field of visual impairment.
Betty has a BA with a major in French (1973), a Diploma in Adult Education (1975) and a Master's Degree in Higher Education (1996). Betty is Past President of Braille Literacy Canada, and a former member of the CNIB national board. Betty is a passionate advocate for braille literacy and is currently completing her term on the executive of the International Council on English Braille.
In the year 2000, she received the YWCA Woman of Distinction award in the category of Education, Training and Development.
