Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) is a not-for-profit multimedia organization serving more than five million Canadians who are blind, partially sighted, deaf, hard of hearing, mobility or print restricted. AMI operates three broadcast services, AMI-tv and AMI-audio in English and AMI-télé in French. 

We are looking for an Operations Specialist, AMI-tv/tele/audio to join our Toronto team. This role will support all technical aspects of AMI’s production & programming environments including videography, video post-production, audio post-production, ingest, asset trafficking and simulcast of live broadcasts on AMI-tv. 

This position will report to the VP of Content Development & Programming (AMI-tv and AMI-télé), and will collaborate closely with AMI’s technology team, the AMI-tv, AMI-télé, AMI-audio programming and production teams.

Responsibilities:

Technical Support
•    Lead the technical efficiencies of AMI’s three broadcast channels by researching and recommending technical requirements, e.g. video and audio equipment as well as studio setups and workflows required for all production including the simulcast of live audio shows. 
•    Conduct testing of all equipment, applications, and workflows to ensure all technical goals are achieved. 
•    Ensure operation of equipment is at the highest professional standard in studio and remotely - reporting and escalating technical issues for resolution.

Training
•    Implement and train programming, production, and digital teams in the compliant and effective use of broadcast and digital software applications and hardware devices.
•    Maximize department efficiencies through training and developing programming & production team members in video/audio production hardware and platforms, post-production systems, ingest, asset trafficking systems and live broadcast environments. 
•    Provide training and ongoing evaluation of programming and production staff who are engaging with internal systems and external platforms to ensure secure, appropriate use of internal infrastructure and cloud-based external systems.
Operational Support
•    Work cross-functionally with Technology team in developing processes to support changes in the systems and platforms as defined by AMI’s operational strategy as that pertains to the requirements of AMI’s English and French programming strategy. 
•    Ensure the efficiency of the video and audio post-production teams by working with producers, videographers, video & audio editors, audio technicians and ingest to design program workflows, timing, and deliverables.
•    Collaborate with programming & production department leads on alignment of workflows, content management and content output through annual department objectives. 
•    Implement the correct application of the media asset management (MAM) environments, broadcast & digital platform trafficking, and metadata naming conventions. 
•    Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.

Requirements:

•    College Diploma in Television Broadcasting or related Video Production Program or equivalent experience.
•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a broadcast operations environment, with a minimum or 2 years as an operational team lead.
•    Strong technical knowledge of multi camera switchers signal routing, camera and audio equipment, scopes, current editing hardware and software, video effects generators as well as general television operational procedures.  Non-Linear Editing system software; Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition.  
•    Working knowledge of graphics applications such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.  
•    High proficiency with optimum video and audio levels quality control, and general television broadcast technical standards. 
•    Significant working knowledge of asset management systems, meta-data requirements and taxonomy, file-based workflows, and general familiarity with IT practices.  
•    Attention to auditory and visual detail.  Ability to work independently and in a team. 
•    Ability to perform multiple tasks, schedule priorities and meet deadlines.
•    Bilingual French/English is an asset.
