On the latest episode of AMI This Week, Toronto Bureau Reporter Alex Smyth spoke with accessible fashion guru and founder of Aille Design, Alexa Jovanovic.
Alexa Jovanovic began her research on Braille and inclusive fashion while studying at Ryerson University. She worked closely with Dr. Ben Barry, Associate Professor of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the School of Fashion at Ryerson, to develop her findings and build the Aille Design brand. Aille Design adds small beads to the exterior of clothing to form phrases in Braille that communicate clothing characteristics to blind and partially sighted individuals like colour, fit, textile and care content. The Braille beading on garments is fully legible and created with Swarovski® crystal pearls.

-Approximate retail value of prize is $65.00 per prize. There are two prizes to be won. Contest commences December 21 at 8 p.m. Eastern time and ends on the advertised deadline day of the Contest, January 8, 2021 at 5 p.m. Eastern.
-You must be 18 years or older to enter this contest. This contest is open to legal Canadian residents only.
-Entries are limited to one entry per person during the contest period.
- All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on the advertised deadline day of the Contest, January 8, 2021.
-This prize must be accepted as is and has no cash value. Prize is one mask size medium and one scarf one size.
-To enter this contest, you may not be employed by Accessible Media Inc. (AMI-tv, AMI-audio or AMI-télé).
-A random draw will be executed by Accessible Media Inc. on January 11, 2021, for the prize, in Toronto, ON, from all eligible entries received on or before the Contest closing date (daily until January 8, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. ET) The odds of winning a prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received on or before the applicable Contest closing date.
