Summer Student - Visual Creation - Toronto

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI)’s mission is to entertain, inform and empower Canadians who are blind or partially sighted. Operating three broadcast services, AMI-tv and AMI-audio in English and AMI-télé in French, AMI’s vision is to establish and support a voice for Canadians with disabilities, representing their interests, concerns and values through accessible media, reflection and portrayal. 

An exciting opportunity awaits one media broadcast student who has a passion to make a difference! AMI’s Live Production Department in the Toronto head office has a summer opportunity available. This position will be required to work from our head office.

Responsibilities:

•    Assist the production team with preparing internally produced live programs
•    Assist with on-location broadcasts
•    Work with Visual Producers to prepare images and b-roll for live programs
•    Assist with graphic creation
•    Maintain established quality standards of AMI content
•    Ensure broadcast deadlines are met

Requirements:

•    Enrolled in post-secondary TV/media/broadcast program
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
•    Working knowledge of video editing software e.g. Adobe Premiere, After Effects
•    Exceptional interpersonal, written/verbal communication and grammatical skills
•    Strong research, planning, creative and organizational skills 
•    Experience working with volunteers or the public would be an asset
•    Experience working in a live television broadcast environment an asset
•    Experience with video switchers is an asset
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
