Technical Producer (Contract), AMI-audio

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) is a not-for-profit multimedia organization serving more than five million Canadians who are blind, partially sighted, deaf, hard of hearing, mobility or print restricted.  AMI operates three broadcast services, AMI-tv and AMI-audio in English and AMI-télé in French. 

We are currently looking for a Technical Producer, AMI-audio to join our team in Toronto. This role will accomplish AMI’s audio programming objectives by leading the technical production of AMI’s live and pre-recorded programming.

Responsibilities:

•    Manage Pre-Production through preparing music, clips and pre-recorded segments for air, working closely with producers, hosts and guests to prepare materials, and executing a pre-show check of equipment.
•    Oversee all technical considerations for live programming, including operation of the audio board, playing music, clips, breaks and features at scheduled times. Manage remote-only shows by connecting all hosts and guests and troubleshooting any technical issues.
•    Manage Post-Production of Live Recordings through contributing to post-show meetings, processing files, performing quality control checks, and liaising with the Control Room and Master control throughout production.
•    Collaborate with outside contributors on pre-recorded shows and podcasts. Make editorial and technical decisions to produce high-quality programming.
•    Oversee reading shows through recording readers in the studio or remote locations, providing feedback to readers, and augmenting the program through the selection of music and clips.
•    Prepare programs to run in automation and podcasts platforms through uploading segments, receiving and ingesting materials delivered from external producers, and ensuring the accuracy of broadcast times 
•    Produce and schedule Promos for AMI-audio shows, podcasts as required
•    Maintain the broadcast network by monitoring and adjusting cross points, and ensuring proper routing to broadcast encoders, recorders, video control room, and web streams. 
•    Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.

Requirements

•    College Diploma in Broadcast, Media or Audio Engineering, or equivalent experience
•    1 year of related experience
•    Strong knowledge of studio boards, equipment, related studio software is essential.
•    Strong knowledge of stereo mastering software e.g. Adobe Audition, Audacity, Pro Tools is essential.
•    Experience with broadcast hardware and software e.g. Comrex, Tieline, Wheatstone is an asset.
•    Attention to auditory and visual detail.  Ability to work independently and in a team. 
•    Ability to perform multiple tasks, schedule priorities and meet deadlines.
