Filming is now underway on How We Do It Productions’ exciting new preschool series coming to AMI-tv, AMI+ and Citytv Saskatchewan in July!
REGINA, April 1, 2026 — How We Do It Productions, in association with AMI (Accessible Media Inc.) and Citytv Saskatchewan, is excited to announce that production has begun on the new preschool series, How We Do It (27x7).
How We Do It is a series where kids of all abilities come together to show viewers how they live their lives. Hosts Carly (Allison Lang), Isaac (Donovan Whyte), and puppet Howie the Dog (Crispi Lord) explore a range of topics relevant to preschoolers. From handling big feelings, trying new sports, or making friends all is done with a special focus on the disability community. Whenever Carly, Isaac or Howie need insight or some advice, they call on a diverse group of young guests to help them share, laugh and play!
“How We Do It provides a space for children of all abilities to feel seen and heard,” says Abigail Curtis, series creator. “I want to help destigmatize disability and notably teach kids and adults that ‘disabled’ and ‘disability’ aren’t bad words.”
The series is currently filming at the John Hopkins Regina Soundstage in Saskatchewan. With the support of Creative Saskatchewan and the Canada Media Fund, How We Do It has an estimated economic impact of over $1 million and has created 50 jobs.
“The cast and crew have gone above and beyond to create something whimsical, charming and engaging,” says Adrian Dean, producer. “Everyone who steps on set is immediately drawn into a colourful world full of kindness.”
How We Do It aims to empower and uplift all voices, disabled or able-bodied, by creating a welcoming and inclusive space. The series is being produced with Integrated Descriptive Video, a process ensuring accessibility for blind and partially sighted audiences.
Broadcast details will be announced soon. Episodes of How We Do It will be available on AMI+, AMI’s free streaming service. Follow AMI on Instagram for the latest news on How We Do It.
