AMI announces coverage of Blue Jays baseball for 2016 season

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that it will air 15 Sportsnet simulcasts of Toronto Blue Jays games in 2016 with live described video making them accessible to fans who are blind and partially sighted. Additionally, AMI will air a 30-minute special, Toronto Blue Jays on Deck, providing a behind the scenes look at the team during spring training.

This is the fifth consecutive season that AMI will air live described broadcasts of Blue Jays games. AMI began its relationship with Canada’s Major League Baseball Team in 2012 when it became the first ever broadcaster to air an MLB game with live described video. AMI will kick off the 2016 season with the Toronto Blue Jays on Deck special followed by the Home Opener on April 8 against the Boston Red Sox.

AMI is proud to have a number of seasoned sports broadcast professionals return as part of the live described video team for the games this season, including Sam Cosentino, Jim Van Horne, Norma Wick and Rob Simpson.

  • Friday, April 8 vs. Boston Red Sox at 7 p.m. (Toronto Blue Jays on Deck and Home Opener)
  • Saturday, April 23 vs. Oakland Athletics at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 7 vs. LA Dodgers at 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 11 vs. San Francisco Giants at 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 24 vs. NY Yankees at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 11 vs. Baltimore Orioles at 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 22 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks at 4 p.m.
  • Friday, July 1 vs. Cleveland Indians at 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 6 vs. Kansas City Royals at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 13 vs. Houston Astros at 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 17 vs. NY Yankees at 1 p.m.
