AMI awarded renewals of English and French licences

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) is pleased to announce that the CRTC has granted the broadcaster the renewal of its AMI-audio, AMI-tv and AMI-télé licences through 2023.

“Over the past five years, AMI has established itself as the destination for inclusive, educational and entertaining audio and television programming as well as connecting with the blind and partially sighted community via social media, our website and app,” says David Errington, AMI President and CEO. “We look forward to furthering our English and French-speaking mandate with more exciting programs that will inspire and invoke discussion with Canadians.”

AMI submitted its broadcast licence renewal submissions for AMI-audio, AMI-tv and AMI-télé to the CRTC in summer 2017.

“I would like to acknowledge and thank our supporters who were so vocal and integral to the CRTC’s renewal of our licences,” says Errington. “We continue to represent an underserved community and I’m pleased we have been granted the opportunity to continue to make media that is accessible to all Canadians, but in particular our blind and partially sighted audience.”

AMI-audio, AMI-tv and AMI-télé are available as part of a basic digital package offered by most television providers. Check your local provider or visit AMI.ca for the AMI channels in your area.
