AMI at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony
By: Em Harding, AMI DV Specialist
The 2018 Paralympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony was incredible to experience in person in PyeongChang. From a Korean drum performance to multiple firework displays, the show had something for everyone. I was blown away by the choreography of the movement, music and synchronized lights. The event was intricate and elaborate as well as flawless.
Olympic Stadium is an open-air venue and the temperature was hovering just above zero. The energy and excitement of the crowd kept me warm along with my hand warmers and Canada toque.
Team Canada – led by Brian McKeever – entering the stadium during the parade of nations brought a smile to my face. I was proud to witness our athletes taking the stage, as they have worked so hard to get here and deserve to be celebrated. I felt a sense of peace and unity as the torch was hiked up a steep ramp to light the cauldron and officially start the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympic Games.
It will be a busy time for the AMI team here in Korea but we’re all looking forward to the experience and being able to share as much as we can with the audience back home.
Go Canada Go!
