Top 5 Paralympic Sports: Day 4

Each day of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, AMI presents the top five sports to watch, with a focus on Canadian athletes from the blind and partially sighted community. Athletics

Josh Cassidy races in the mens 5000m final this morning, along with Brent Lakatos and Jean-Philippe Maranda in the mens 400m final. There is so much exciting Canadian action on the track today!

Triathlon

Chantal Givens and Christine Robbins both offer great medal chances for Canada in para-triathlon. Christine is a PT5 classification for athletes with a visual impairment, and will be the first visually impaired Canadian ever to be at the start line in para-triathlon at a Paralympic Games. Competing with her guide, Sasha Boulton, the para-triathlon consists of a 750m swim, 20km bike and a 5km run.

Swimming

Superstars Aurelie Rivard and Benoit Huot are both in the pool for Canada this evening. Will Huot break the 20 medal milestone in Rio?

Boccia

The Boccia action continues with Team Canada taking on Thailand and Belgium in the team format competitions.

Goalball

The Canadian women take on Ukraine in the afternoon – one more step in their quest for world domination.

Sitting Volleyball

The Canadian women take it hard to the net against a very strong Dutch team.
